A new chapter has begun in the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road project, as demolition of structures on the right of way commenced on Saturday. Minister of Works, David Umahi, kickstarted the process at Mani Chula Beach, Oniru Waterfront, paving the way for the long-awaited project.

The 700km road, spanning across seven states, is expected to revolutionize transportation and economic growth in the region. While concerns have been raised about the project’s cost, the government has assured citizens of its commitment to transparency and value for money.

As the demolition process continues, affected property owners are urged to cooperate with authorities to ensure a smooth transition. With compensation plans in place, the government is confident that the project will bring about significant benefits to the nation, far outweighing any temporary inconveniences.
