In a bid to restore peace, harmony, and unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State, Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has proposed the establishment of a powerful reconciliatory and disciplinary committee. This move comes after the submission of a report by the committee investigating alleged anti-party activities during the recent Sabuwa-Kankara rerun election.

The committee, chaired by Alhaji Tukur Ahmed Jikamshi, former Katsina State Deputy Governor, identified instances of sabotage and internal factions within the party, particularly in Faskari and Kankara Local Government Areas. These issues were attributed to the selfish interests of some party leaders, which contributed to the APC’s electoral losses.

Governor Radda directed the APC leadership in the state to take decisive action against party members found guilty of anti-party activities and emphasized the importance of fostering unity within the party. He also called for the establishment of a powerful committee to lead intensive reconciliation efforts in Local Government Areas experiencing internal factions.

The five-point recommendation report presented by Jikamshi assured that the committee adhered to the party’s constitution and terms of reference during their investigation. The report was initially presented to the state chairman of the APC, Sani Aliyu Daura, before being forwarded to Governor Radda.

With this move, Governor Radda demonstrates his commitment to promoting party discipline and unity, ensuring a stronger and more cohesive APC in Katsina State.
