Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyers Meet with DSS Over Restrictions

The legal team of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), met with the Department of State Services’ (DSS) legal department on Monday.

The meeting followed restrictions imposed on Kanu after his last court outing, where he demanded the recusal of Justice Binta Nyako. The DSS had blocked Kanu from having access to his legal team, but the court threatened to jail the DSS Director General if the restriction wasn’t lifted.

House of Representatives member Obi Aguocha had earlier met with Kanu at the DSS facility in Abuja, resolving the issue of restrictions. Kanu’s legal team, led by Aloy Ejimakor, then met with the DSS legal team for two hours.

After the meeting, Ejimakor wrote: “Today, the #MnkLegalTeam met with the legal department of the DSS over the persisting restrictions on Counsel visitation to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. We met for over two hours.”
