A devastating series of attacks has left multiple communities in Zamfara State reeling. Bandits launched coordinated assaults on several villages, resulting in the loss of lives and numerous abductions.

According to eyewitnesses, the attacks occurred between Sunday night and Monday morning. In Shemori community, Mada District of Gusau, bandits stormed the area around 9:20 pm on Sunday, kidnapping six women.

In a separate incident, bandits attacked Kairu community in Zugu District early on Monday, killing two locals and abducting several others.

Mada town, Gusau district, was also targeted, with bandits setting fire to a residence in Hayin Bajumi. The blaze claimed the lives of two children, aged five and two. The gunmen also abducted a neighbor’s wife and her one-year-old baby.

The Vice Chairman of Bukkuyyum Local Government Area, Hon. Bala Muhammad Maijidadi, was reportedly kidnapped during the attacks.

Efforts to reach the State police spokesman, ASP Yazeed Abubakar, for comment were unsuccessful.
