The Department of State Services (DSS) has slated a meeting with petroleum marketers for October 9, 2024, to address the escalating costs and distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).
According to the President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, the discussion will center on the retail price of petrol and its accessibility to marketers.
This gathering comes at a time when Nigerians are grappling with exorbitant fuel prices, ranging from N950 to N1,200 or more per liter nationwide.
Recently, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited relinquished its exclusive partnership with Dangote Petrol. This development coincided with Dangote Refinery’s commencement of petrol distribution and the subsequent price hike by the NNPCL.
The impending DSS meeting seeks to tackle the fuel price crisis and its far-reaching implications for marketers and consumers alike.
