In a bid to enhance financial sustainability and operational efficiency, Manchester United has announced a major restructuring plan, which includes job cuts.
The Premier League club anticipates that around 150-200 roles may be made redundant, subject to a consultation process with employees. This move comes after the club reported five consecutive years of losses since 2019.
According to Manchester United, the transformation plan aims to return the club to profitability and create a solid financial platform for investing in football success and infrastructure.
The job cuts will be in addition to the 250 roles removed last year. The restructuring plan is part of the club’s efforts to improve its financial stability and competitiveness.
The announcement comes on the heels of Manchester United’s 2-2 draw with Everton in the Premier League. The club last won the Premier League title in 2012 under former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
