Nigeria’s Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon, expressed satisfaction with the team’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Libya in their AFCON 2025 qualifier.
The win maintains Nigeria’s top spot in Group A, courtesy of Fisayo Dele-Bashiru’s 86th-minute goal.
Simon noted, “We anticipated a tough game and prepared accordingly.”
He added, “The victory and lack of injuries are most important.”
Looking ahead to the reverse fixture in Benina, Simon said, “We’re mentally prepared. Libya will seek revenge, making the game more open.”
Simon acknowledged the challenge of playing away but expressed confidence in the team’s experience to handle the hostile environment.
Nigeria faces Libya again on Tuesday.
