A Lagos Magistrate Court has acquitted Nigerian singer Abdulazeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, of any involvement in the death of fellow artist Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad.
Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje ruled that Naira Marley had no case to answer, clearing him of any wrongdoing. Music promoter Samson Balogun, also known as Sam Larry, Owodunni Ibrahim, known as Primeboy, and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde, were also freed.
However, the Directorate of Public Prosecution will prosecute Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who treated Mohbad before his death, and Ayobami Sadiq, a friend of Mohbad’s, for reckless and negligent acts.
